The SRC President, Nene, as he's affectionately called, together with his executives have outlined a list of amazing activities ahead of this year's celebration. This year's SRC  celebration will last from Saturday, 18th May, 2024 to Sunday, 26th May, 2024.  On Saturday, May 18, 2024, there's going to be float, Aerobics  and picnic launch from 6am in the morning to 2pm in the afternoon around the outskirts of Tema Metropolis as well as Campus Annex.  Ghana's Parliament on Wednesday,  28th February 2024 passed the Anti-LGBTQ bill into law. The bill seeks to uphold proper human sexual rights and Ghanaian family values, while prohibiting lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and related activities. Persons who are found guilty or engaged in same sex activities will face a jail term ranging from six months to three years with a more severe punishment of three to five years for promoters and activities of LGBTQ rights. The bill, which  was sponsored by a group of leaders in Ghana is expected to be signed into law by the President of the Republic of Ghana Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo Addo.
