Passenger plane crashes in Central Nepal

An aircraft carrying 72 people on board crashed in the city of Pokhara in central Nepal, Yeti Airlines said on Sunday.

68 people were confirmed dead in the crash, according to the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal, but the actual death toll is still not clear.

According to the Nepal Aviation Authority, 2 infants and 15 foreign nationals were on board, including five Indians, four Russians, two South Koreans and one each from Ireland, Australia, Argentina and France.

Nepal, a country in South Asia, is notoriously dangerous for air travel for several reasons. The country lacks advanced weather forecasting infrastructure and also has low visibility and mountainous topography.

According to source, investigating is still underway to uncover what actually happened or accounted for the plane crash on Sunday.
