Senegal's Macky Sall truncates third term amid lethal protests.

 Senegal's President, Macky Sall has officially disclosed that he will not be seeking for another term in office when his term expires next month. 


The most anticipated announcement was made in an address to the Nation on July 3, 2023, which brings an end to the rumors that he had envisaged to run for a contentious third term.

Senegal, a country in West Africa has for the past few months been plunged into a state of anarchy and deadly protests, following the arrest of a key opposition candidate Ousmane Sonko, which led to the loss of lives and destruction of properties.
